• If your artists bandaged your tattoo with a clear adhesive film like Saniderm or Tegaderm, you can leave it on for up to 5 days. There may be a lot of fluid that builds up under the film and that is okay. The film is shower proof, so you can shower with it on. If fluid leaks out or water gets in, just simply remove the bandage and follow the standard tattoo aftercare instructions dropdown below.

If no leaking occurs, remove the the film on day 5 and then wash the tattoo. Make sure to use a antibacterial hand soap and wash thoroughly and gently with your hands. DO NOT SCRUB THE TATTOO! Lightly pat dry with a clean hand towel and apply a very thin coat of our H2ocean lotion and or any unscented water-based lotion. It is very important to let the tattoo breathe.

  • DAY 1

If your artist bandaged your tattoo with plastic wrap and then tape, remove the bandage 1 to 2 hours after. Then wash the tattoo.

    DAYS 2 & 3

Repeat the cycle of washing, drying and applying a thin layer of lotion to the tattoo about 1-3 times per day. It is very important to keep the tattoo clean, it is most vulnerable when its freshly done.

    DAYS 3-14

Wash as much as possible and continue using lotion. Very little goes a LONG WAY.

During the last phases of the healing process, it is normal to experience dryness, itchiness, scabbing, and pealing. It is very extremely important to NEVER SCRATCH OR PICK at a healing tattoo.

    1. KEEP YOUR TATTOO CLEAN and only touch your tattoo with clean hands.

    2. DO NOT LET ANYONE TOUCH YOUR TATTOO.

    3. REFRAIN FROM SCRATCHING OR PICKING at the tattoo. Scratching, scrubbing or picking will irritate the tattoo and can prolong the healing process or cause the tattoo to scar and lose its ink.

    4. ABSOLUTELY NO SWIMMING POOLS, OCEANS, HOT TUBS OR BATHTUBS until the tattoo is 100% healed.

    5. THE SUN IS VERY BAD FOR YOUR FRESH TATTOO. It will cause burning, scabbing, loss of color and scarring. Wait until it is fully healed before going out into the sun.

    6. ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR ARTIST’S AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS. Do not consult your friends or the internet. If you have questions please get ahold of your artist and we will be happy to assist you.

FOLLOWING ALL THESE SIMPLE STEPS WILL ENSURE THAT YOU END UP WITH THE BEST RESULTS WITH MINIMAL TO NO COMPLICATIONS AND YOUR TATTOO WILL STAY LOOKING BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.
